Frequently Asked Questions
How soon will I start seeing results?
I’ve tried different diets already. How do I know if this program will help me?
Many people come to me after trying different diets or even trying a low FODMAP diet on their own. Unfortunately, for most, this means just eliminating high-FODMAP foods with no plan for reintroducing them.
This program is not just about diet. It is a comprehensive program that offers a holistic approach to the management of IBS. We not only look at what you eat but also how you eat and address lifestyle (stress, exercise, sleep), and mindset (reframing negative thoughts through self-compassion). Managing IBS symptoms for the long term is much more than simply cutting out foods.
What if I have SIBO? Is this program right for me?
Yes, definitely! I’ve helped many people with SIBO. The tools you learn help you find relief from the gut symptoms that are the hallmark of both IBS and SIBO (bloating, abdominal pain, painful gas, and irregular bowel movements). Nonetheless, you should also work with a gastroenterologist to treat SIBO.
I have an eating disorder. Can I still join?
People who have or have had an eating disorder in the past are not good candidates for this program as the eating disorder needs to be treated first with the help of an eating disorder dietitian. This is not my area of expertise and you should look for help from an eating disorder dietitian or center.
I have a trip planned within the next 4 months. Is this still a good time for me to apply to join the program?
Certainly! During the program, you can take a break or two for a weekend trip or a longer vacation, then resume when you get back. You have 6 months to schedule all the one-on-one sessions, so that gives you a bit of margin for any emergency or incidentals.
Do you take insurance?
I only accept cash-paying clients. If your insurance plan covers nutrition counseling for IBS, I can provide you with a SuperBill with the necessary codes and information to submit to your insurance as proof of service and payment. Your insurance may then reimburse you for part of the services paid (the individual sessions).

Every person is unique, and the time it takes to find relief from your gut symptoms depends on your biology, the complexity of your symptoms, and how quickly you start implementing diet and lifestyle modifications. Some clients feel better within 1-2 weeks, others take 4-6 weeks. If, after 6 weeks of applying the diet and lifestyle changes you learn during the program, you find no improvement, I will help you dig deeper and suggest an alternative course of action.
